Challenge 2016
To compete you visit a number of Challenge Points within the UK and Ireland.
To prove each visit you submit a photograph as evidence for each Challenge Point visited.
Eligible Machines Any road legal motorcycle of any age or capacity.
Any road legal three wheeled vehicle of any age or capacity.
Challenge Awards
To be made at the end of the 9 month competition
Entrant Award
The Rider has visited up to 9 Challenge Points.
Bronze Award
The Rider has visited a minimum of 10 Challenge Points
Silver Award
The Rider has visited a minimum of 15 Challenge Points
Gold Award
The Rider has visited at least 5 Challenge Points in England, 5 in Ireland, 5 in Scotland, 5 in Ulster, 5 in Wales. A minimum of 25 Challenge Points. (Note the Challenge Point prefix)
Platinum Award
The Rider has visited 6 or more Challenge Points in England, 6 in Ireland, 6 in Scotland, 6 in Ulster, 6 in Wales. A minimum of 30 Challenge Points. (Note the Challenge Point prefix)
Quarterly Class Awards
These Awards will be made for the best performance in the following classes at the end of each Quarter
(March to May, June to August, September to November).
Solo Award
For the most Challenge Points visited by a rider of a solo machine during the Quarter.
Sidecar Award
For the most Challenge Points visited by a rider of a three wheeled machine e.g. sidecar or trike during the Quarter .
Team Award
For the most Challenge Points visited by a Team during the Quarter. The Team performance is calculated by adding together the number of Challenge Points each of the three Team Members has visited. Team Members do not have to visit the same Challenge Points as their other Team Members.
Passenger Award
For the most Challenge Points visited by a Passenger or Pillion.
Vintage and Classic Award
For the most Challenge Points visited by any Rider under 65 years of age riding any machine 25 or more years old.
This award is separate and in addition to the awards above.
Veteran Award
For the most Challenge Points visited by any Rider aged 65 or more, riding a machine 25 or more years old.
This award is separate and in addition to the awards above.
Conditions
Event Duration
The event is run over 9 months, 1st March to 30th November.
Results
Results will be posted on the GS Register website, on the GS Register Facebook Site and will be available on request as an email attachment from gs@bmwclubuk.net.
Entries
Entry Forms
There are two forms
1. Entry Form –
Each Rider and Passenger/Pillion entering the Challenge must complete this form.
2. Team Entry Form –
A Team Entry must be made on this form. The Team Entry Form must clearly state the names of the three Riders who are Team Members.
N.B. A separate Entry Form must be made for each Rider in a team
A Team consists of three Team Members.
They may ride three different types of machines and may be:-
Three Solos
Two Solos and One Sidecar/Trike/Three wheeled vehicle
One Solo and Two Sidecars/Trikes/ Three wheeled vehicle
Three Sidecars/Trikes/ Three wheeled vehicle
Teams may contain a mixture of machines of any age.
Any Rider may be part of two teams.
Entry Forms and Team Entry Forms must be posted to the GS Register Secretary at the
address on the entry form.
Paying Entry Fees
There are three ways to pay. For full details see Entry Form and Team Entry Form. Confirmation that your entry has been accepted will be made by email when payment is
received. Entries may be made at any time until 20th November.
Challenge Points
A number of “Challenge Points” are designated by the organisers.
The object of the challenge is to visit a number of these Challenge Points.
You choose the number of Challenge Points you wish to visit.
Definition of “Challenge Points”
Challenge Points will be significant places e.g. Historical site, Geographic Site, Memorial, Public House etc. which will be easily identifiable.
Challenge Point Prefix
in England an E prefix, Example E 20
in Ireland an I prefix, Example I 20,
in Scotland an S prefix, Example S 20,
in Ulster a U prefix, Example U 20,
in Wales a W prefix, Example W 20,
Photographic Evidence
For each Challenge Point visited, a jpeg photograph must be submitted
attached to an email stating the Rider's name and the Challenge Point number.
Emails and attached photographs to:-
Do not send photographs by any other means. By submitting a photograph you give implicit agreement that the GS Register may have free use of it.
The photograph must show the machine standing by the Challenge Point.
If you have a Pillion and/or Passenger they must stand in the photo with the machine.
Photographs taken during a month should be emailed to the organisers by the 10th of the following month.
Photographs may only be submitted after your entry has been accepted.
Appeals
Appeals against the Quarterly Awards or the Final Awards must be submitted by email to the GS Register Secretary ( challenge@gs-
Appeals will be decided by the GS Register Secretary whose decision will be final.
